Sarah Rashid was born in Dubai, and raised between the UAE and Mumbai, India. She graduated from Wilson’s College, Mumbai, with a degree in Economics in 1995. Sarah is now settled permanently in the UAE with her husband, Saif Belhasa, and her two sons aged seven and eight years old.

Sarah and Saif were married in Dubai in 1998. They set up the Saif Belhasa Group in 2003, and Sarah is the Vice Chairman of the group that incorporates 22 companies in its business portfolio.

As well as working in her role as Vice President for the Saif Belhasa Group, Sarah embarked on a career in fashion in 2002. She began by designing her own accessories label called Glitter and Glow, which was a huge success in the Middle East. In July 2006 she opened the first Manish Malhotra boutique on Jumeirah Beach Road in Dubai. The second Manish Malhotra was opened in Souk Al Bahar on January 2 2008. She is also an advisory member on the board of Dubai Fashion Week.

In April 2009, Sarah will rebrand the Manish Malhotra store on Jumeirah Beach Road as Studio 8. Manish Malhotra’s designs will continue to be available at the new multi-brand boutique, which will also retail designs from Pria Kataaria Puri from Kuwait, Hatem Alakeel from Saudi Arabia, HSY from Pakistan, Reem & Hind Beljafla and Chitra Amarnani (Sweety Exclusive) from the UAE.
